Christmas Day

This was Jaxons first Christmas! He was not super excited about the whole thing! But started getting the hang of it as he got used to it! He would start to rip open the presents (with some encouragement) and peek inside to see the toy! It was so cute!

We woke up bright and early to open presents with my mom and sister! Stef slept over! :)

Living around so much family this year for Christmas was really fun.... but exhausting! We were at my moms for a while, got ready, went to Joels parents house, then his grandparents, then to my dads house then to Joels other grandparents! It was such a fun day and we got soooo spoiled! Thanks EVERYONE for the great gifts, expecially the fun toys for our little guy! He is a happy boy with all of his toys to play with!
(Our tired family! Please just take a quick look at Jaxon's outfit! Yep Calvin Klein! I am in love with it!)

Twas the Night Before Christmas....

On Christmas Eve we spent the night with my mom and sister! We had a yummy dinner and then played games all night! It was really fun to just hang out at home! We stayed up till 12:30... that is the latest I have stayed up in MONTHS! But it was worth it!
Dorky faces I know!

Playing Games!

Jaxon opening his Christmas Eve pjs!

Joel thought his Xbox 360 pjs were pretty funny! I found them at Target and was so excited to get them for him!

Joel got me the softest snowflake jammies! I love them!

The girls in their jammies!

Christmas Day was CRAZY! We ran everywhere! So I will post the pics from Christmas another day! I wanna try and edit a couple first! Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! We sure did! It was our first Christmas around this much family!

How Embarressing!

Yesterday I was running a bunch of errands and finishing Christmas shopping for the hubby! Well I had to run to the post office to mail a gift and of course Jaxon was throwing a royal fit in his car seat! So when I pulled into the parking lot I decided instead of carrying the carseat, or pulling out the stroller I would just carry him in. Sounds reasonable right?? Well let me back up by saying I was wearing heels, carrying my bags, a present and baby. As I was shutting the car door with everything in my arms I stepped in a puddle of oil and tried to keep walking carefully... and you can guess what happened... I TOTALLY FELL!! Hard on my knee! The result... Jaxon was totally fine (and looked at me like what the heck is wrong with you mom) the present was fine, just a little hole in the wrapping, all the bags were fine, BUT I bruised my finger and knee, and the saddest part.... RUINED my white heels! :( Huge black scuffs across the whole front!
The sweetest little old lady saw it happen as she was getting in her car and came to help me... but could barely walk and I thought for sure she was gonna fall too! But it was so sweet of her to come offer help! I was so embarressed! UGH! Those are the moments you hope NOBODY is paying attention so you can act like nothing happened! Haha

Lately....

So I realized I am WAY behind with my scrapbooking! So this winter I really want to get caught up while I am locked indoors! :) So this potenially LARGE post is mostly for me to remember what we have been up to and what happened in my HUNDREDS of pictures!
We have been giving Jaxon a big variety of foods to try lately! He seems to be doing very well, even with the "real people" food!
Macaroni and Cheese Please?!?

I went to the Festival of Trees last week! Seriously some of those trees are AMAZING! Almost too good! Haha They make mine look pretty lame! **tear** Check out this tree... it really is a pine tree that they "shaved" to look like a palm tree! Who comes up with this stuff?

They also had a Santa there for the kiddos! So of course we had to take Jaxon over there! And my child was the one who RIPPED OFF HIS BEARD!!! If you look really close in the picture you can see Santa holding his hand down from doing it again! Haha it was so funny! He didn't really smile, but he didn't cry... so I consider it a success!

I just though this picture was cute! We did nothing all day but play on the floor! Fun Fun!

Yesterday was Jaxons 9 month appt. Here is how he measures up....

Weight: 17.6 lbs (10th percentile)

Height: 27 inches (10th percentile)

Head: 40th percentile

Thankfully he only had to get 1 shot this time! But I still made Joel come with me for emotional support! I hate holding my baby on the table to get his shots! (Besides the fact that needles make me pass out if I see them.. wuss I know!) He was much tougher then me! And only cried for a few minutes!

In other news... we were invited by some friends in our ward to the Utah Flash game last night! They had some free tickets and we decided to go before the big HOAX story came out! Well after we heard the rumors about Michael Jordan and Bryon Russell being there we got excited for the chance to see them! Apparently we were not the only people excited! The McKay Event Center was PACKED beyond belief to see them go 1-on-1 at half time! Well to make a long story short.. Bryon Russell was there, but MJ was not! They even went so far as to bring out an impersonator surrounded by security onto the court. Yeah it was pretty lame! The funniest part was people starting throwing their free UT Flash shirts back on the court and booing! Haha Don't worry over 3/4 of the place cleared out before the 3rd quarter was over! Sad for the team but there are some angry fans! We had such a fun night with our friends either way! So we didn't care too much! We were bummed, but who cares! Night out with friends and Frostys after... I am a happy girl :)

Whoever made it this far into my LONG post.. Thanks! And coming soon... pictures from the yearly Roper Christmas Pary! :)

The last few days... with help, our little man would pull himself up onto our laps. We would hold his hands and he would grunt and grunt till he stood up! Well about 20 minutes ago, while I was doing laundry, Jaxon decided to use the basket and stand up on his own!! All I did was hold the basket from flipping over! He stood there for a while too with only 1 hand balancing him!
I got all excited and was telling him good job and everything.. He smiled but looked at me like piece of cake mom! Whats the big deal?! So I was probably more excited then he was! Oh well!
Good Job Buddy!!!

Growing Boy

Jaxon turned 9 months old yesterday! He went from this.....
.......to this in 9 short months!

He used to LIVE in this bouncy/vibrating chair! Now he likes to climb on it! He does not like being strapped into anything... so this was a quick picture before the bucking started! :)

Love ya buddy!!!

Laundry Monster!

Now that my little maniac is mobile my daily adventures have changed! I spend 80 % of the day chasing him around... and he is only scooting/crawling! I don't know if I am ready for a walker yet! :) He is SOOOO observant and wants to explore everything! I was trying to fold laundry and it took me 30 minutes to fold 1 load! That is sad! He dumped out the basket at least 3 times before I finally got done! Haha

Here he is sabotaging my attempts at folding laundry!

I finally finished and put him inside the basket... it was funny for a minute and then he realized it was not as fun as he had hoped! He just sat there and stared at me! :)

Can I get out now mom??? I am bored!

Thanksgiving!

This year for Thanksgiving we stayed home with my mom! Everyone else was out of town so no running around for us this year! :) It was a nice change! We had a very different Thanksgiving meal.... my mom does not really like turkey, so we decided to have....

Yep we had steak for Thanksgiving!!! My mom and Joel made them and they turned out great!!! We had a very non-traditional meal which included.....Homemade garlic mashed potatoes and.. Platanos!!! (Fried plantains for those of you who don't know what they are!) Everything was amazing! My favorite part was the rolls! :) And the homemade peach pie from Michelle!

Jaxon takes after his mom and LOVES rolls!!! He chewed this roll to death!!! Haha it was nasty when he was finished, but he loved when we gave him bites!

Of course we had to take pictures of our little man on his first Thanksgiving! Can I just say how much I love his outfit? He looked so grown up!

I have so much to be thankful for this year! Both sides of our family have been AMAZING in helping us through a rough year! They have all done everything they can to be there for us and help in any little way they can! I am also soooo thankful for a wonderful loving husband who is always there to listen and support me when I am having a bad day! He is a great dad and adores his son and Jaxon loves him to death! Jaxon is the most amazing little boy and is such a special part of our lives! I am so thankful I get to be his mom and raise him in the church! I love waking up every morning (even if it is a little too early) to his smiling face and a kiss from my hubby! I am so lucky!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving like I did!!!

The Joys of Mobility!

Jaxon LOVES his newly found mobility! He scoots everywhere and is already into everything! Especially power cords and heat vents for some strange reason! He keeps me much busier now chasing him around and clearing his way of dangerous hazards! I have no idea why he is grunting so much in this video! Haha but he is getting pretty fast and has so much fun playing now!

Here is video of a fun game he likes! Hitting the bottle cap around and chasing it! Keeps him entertained forever! Remind me why I buy so many toys????

Recent Discovery!

Jaxon decided he really likes......

It might look like more is on his face then in his mouth... but I promise he really does like it! :)

He won't eat a whole can yet... only a little at a time! But its better then nothing right???

No WAY!!! Really???

Jaxon is 8 months old today! He is growing up so fast! It seems like this last week he has gone from a baby to a little boy! Here are some things he just started doing the last couple weeks....

  • Scooting ALL OVER the place!

  • Saying Dada Dada Dada (only says Mama when he is crying lol)

  • Getting his first tooth for real now.. 1 corner has broken through!

  • And last but not least... IS WILLING TO EAT RICE CEREAL a couple times a days!

I will try and upload a video of my little buddy scooting around! Its crazy to me that he is old enough to do that! I love this kid so much! He makes our lives so much happier!

Trick Or Treat!

We were so excited to have Jaxon to dress up this year! I remember being pregnant on Halloween last year and all I could think about was when I could dress up our little guy! This year I was Cruella Deville, Jaxon was my lil Dalmation and Joel was an old man! Haha! We took him Trick Or Treating to mostly friends and family just to show him off! Here are a few pictures!Yep Joel had a cane and everything! Haha He even had the slow weird walk down! Is he not the CUTEST dalmation ever! Oh I was in love with him!

Our makeup and my hair took FOREVER! But we had fun getting ready! I had to shampoo my hair 3 times, condition twice and it still felt like horse hair after I brushed it out!
