I'm going to have......

A BABY BROTHER!!!!

My dad and his wife Celeste found out today they are having a boy! I could not be happier for them! Look at these cute little feet! Not gonna lie... just the ultrasound pictures make me baby hungry! :) Maybe not... I don't know! Either way I am excited for Jaxon to have a little buddy to play with.. even if his uncle is younger then him! :) FUN FUN!!

I always said I would NEVER....

Let my kids play in cupboards! I used to have such an OCD issue with kids pulling out pots, pans and bowls and who know what else out of the kitchen cupboards. Don't ask me why, it just bugged me! But now....
Guess it's not that big of a deal, right? He has figured out how to move the chair that used to keep him out of the kitchen... and now he is too heavy to hold while I make his food. So we have resorted to allowing him in 1 cupboard to destroy!! And he knows which one and bolts to it!
I am sure this won't be the last thing I get over as a mom! Pick your battles right? :)
Oh and now Joel has taught him how to close the door on himself.. so he hides in there and giggles away until I find him!

Family Tradition

Every year for Easter my dads side of the family does a big Roper Family Sand Dunes weekend! We have been doing this for as long as I can remember! Uncles, Aunts, Grandparents, Cousins and kids all bring their campers, 4-wheelers, motorcycles and sand toys to our "designated" spot. This is our family reunion pretty much! Most of them stay the weekend, but we just went down for the day! It was still a lot of fun! Even if you don't have a 4-wheeler or anything, there are plenty to borrow, which is what we did!
This was Jaxons first year going! And since we have lived so far away from our families for so long, it was Joels first time too! When we were little we would bring colored eggs and make trails down one of the hills for the eggs to roll down, of course it had to include tunnels, jumps, and any other creative thing you could think of! So of course we had to pass this tradition onto the next generation! But lets be honest, Jaxon had no idea what the point of that was.. so Joel did it, with some destructive help from Jaxon! (He kept pushing sand into the trail) :)

Joels masterpiece! You can't really tell from this picture but there was a tunnel towards the bottom! Pretty good for a rookie! :)

He was fascinated with letting the sand run through his fingers! Actually.. he just LOVED getting messy! My cousin and I are 1 month apart. We now both have kids, they are 3 months apart, but could not be anymore different looking from each other! Jaxon has dark brown eyes and hair, while Rebecca has crystal blue eyes and a little blonde hair! They had fun playing together though and we hope they grow up to be good friends like we are! Rebecca is the cutest little thing!

After we got nice and messy in the sand we took Jaxon for a ride on a 4-wheeler! He loved it! The whole time he kept saying "WHOA!" "Whoa!" and "Vroom Vroom!"

Because the 4-wheeler was such a hit, we decided to take Jaxon in my dads Rhino. Tatianna (my cousin) brought Rebecca and hubby along with us! It was a fun ride!
All in all it was a FUN FUN day! The weather was perfect for the most part, we got some sun, and ate some YUMMY food! I am terrible at remembering names in my own family.. but it's hard to remember the names of my dads cousins kids! Oh well! At least we got to see everyone!
Jaxon was so good and we wore him out! He slept the whole way home and when we got home, he took a bath and went straight to bed!
Perfect Day I think!

Easter

The Easter bunny came this morning!
Jaxon did not waste any time finding the goods!
We kept it kind of simple this year and included lots of balls! We tried teaching him how to use the bowling set.. it's a work in progress :) We also got him bells! I might be regretting that in a few days! But at least they keep him entertained! With Easter comes Conference weekend! As always the talks were all great and were very inspiring! We are so lucky to hear from our leaders! Since my sister and I were little we always enjoyed conference, but really needed something to keep us entertained while we watched. This year we carried on the tradition with my mom and Joel! Jaxons naps fell during all the sessions.. so we all COLORED! Of course we had to have princesses!
These are some of the ones we colored! Pretty I know! Joel even got in touch with is inner princess and colored with us! :) I love him.. he always humors me and makes me smile!
Then we went to dinner at my dads house! It was a little cool outside, but we couldn't resist going out on their swings before dinner!
Happy Easter! I am truly thankful for the true meaning of this wonderful holiday! And it is so nice to spend the weekend relaxing and hanging out with our families!!

Jaxon is in the funnest stage right now! I think he learns something new everyday! His vocabulary is growing and he understands a lot of what we say now too! It makes me so happy when he learns something I have taught him! Some of his favorite words are...
Dad or Dada
Mom
Hi! ( with his hand on his ear like a phone, or waving)
No (while shaking his head)
Yes (while shaking his head yes)
Yeah or Yay (while clapping)
Ba (Ball)
Boo (Book)

13 months tomorrow.. and I still have a hard time believing it! People at the store will ask me how old he is and I literally stall trying to spit out 1 year! And I get people talking to me about him all the time! Oh boy is this kid a show off! He waves at the ladies and says hi to the little kids, and blows kiss to the little girls :) He will carry on a jibberish conversation with just about anyone!
He is walking all along the furniture, with his walker, and with mom and dad.. but still has not ventured to walking alone! Just today he stood by himself for the longest I have ever seen! I was so proud of him.. he didn't even fall, he just got nervous and lowered himself slowly to the ground!
Jaxon so far is following in his daddies footsteps! We spend about 70% of the day playing with balls and the rest of the time with cars and anything that rolls!
I love my little bubba man and have so much fun playing with him everyday! This picture was from a couple weeks ago, and I know it's kinda shaded... but I love that you can kind of see his little dimple! :) (He was busy playing when I swooped him up for a picture, so he was not really in the mood)

Easter and conference this weekend! WAHOO! I hope the weather will be tolerable so we can do a mini easter egg hunt for Jaxon! Have a great Easter weekend everyone and enjoy church in your pjs! :)
