Babys FIRST......

Jaxons FIRST tooth finally popped through today! After his morning nap I was tiggling his tummy and looked into his mouth and saw the corner of his first tooth had broke the gum!! It is a top tooth, just right of the 2 middle ones! Yeah I know random place to get a first tooth huh? But we were excited for Jaxon to hit that milestone today! Just thought I would share! I doubt I can get a pic yet... but I will try!!
Love ya buddy - hope you start feeling better (and sleeping better) :)

Walk to the Lighthouse

From my aunts apartment we could see the coolest lighthouse. So we decided one morning to walk to it along the beach. We didn't get right up against it, but we got to this old dock and had a great view of it! It was a beautiful morning and the 20 minute walk was very relaxing! It was what Florida considers a cold front... 50s-60s with a nice breeze! Jaxon even fell asleep on my shoulder on the way back!
You can not tell me this first picture does not belong in a calendar or magazine! The water was SOOO blue from the storm the day before!

We did finally get a good beach day! Jaxon was loving it!!!! He was full of smiles and just wanted to play!

I sat Jaxon down in the sand for a few minutes and he was very interested... he kept wiggling his little toes and grabbing more sand in his hands!

Ok I really am almost done with the Florida posts.. Just one more! This is more for me then anyone else at this point so that when I scrapbook these pictures I can remember the stories behind them all! Yes I am that far behind in Jaxons scrapbook!

Party, Beach Rain-Out, Amazing View!

My uncle and aunt had their 25th wedding anniversary party while we were in Florida! They always have the funnest parties! Anyway, the new popular thing is Hora Loca (crazy hour), everyone puts on masks, hats, act crazy and of course dance! It was fun!

Jaxon had just woken up and was really not a huge fan of the hats! But he was a good sport as usual and just stared!
The next morning we went to the beach... as soon as we got there it started POURING rain and it was super windy! We ran under a pavillion and called Kathy to come save us!

After a couple hours of waiting out the storm we went on the roof of their 15 story apartment building! It was a GORGEOUS view!!!! Even with the dark clouds behind us!

Check out the boat cul-de-sac!!!!

Don't worry I still have a ton of pictures and stories to post from that fun trip! But we will save that for another day! :)

Relaxing in Florida!

Once we started getting better we had a lot more fun! I stayed with my aunt Nancy and her roommate Kathy. They have an apartment that is 1 block from the beach on one side and right along the Intercoastal on the other! Can I just say GORGEOUS view! I am totally moving there! :)

The first couple days Jaxon and I just hung out and went on a few walks. My mom was pretty sick those couple days, so my aunts kept me very entertained! He loved to lay in his stroller, kick his feet up, drink cold water and look around at this new place we took him to!

Nancy came to the beach with us so Jaxon could experience his FIRST beach experience! He liked it a lot! It was a super hot day and the water felt great! We were only there for an hour or so... but it was so refreshing! If you are wondering his swimsuit was at my Abuela's house which was about 20 minutes away. We didn't want to drive all the way there so he got to swim in a onesie!

His favorite thing was watching the waves go in and out.

Greatest Start to a Vacation EVER!

So last week my mom took me and Jaxon to Florida! We were all super excited to see her family and let them meet Jaxon for the first time! The first 1/2 of the flight Jaxon did good and slept most of the time, but my mom and I noticed he had a fever when we were boarding in Salt Lake. We gave him some Tylenol and hoped that would help. Well by the time we got to Austin he was not feeling very good and still was VERY warm. I didn't have a thermometer with me, but you could see the fever in his eyes! The flight from Austin to Ft. Lauderdale did not go well! My poor baby was MISERABLE! To make a long story short... My aunt dealt a lot with fevers when her kids were younger, so we tried everything to get his fever down (which was at 102.9!) Stripped him down to his diaper, took a cold shower with me, cold rag on his head, medicine, cold water to drink, etc. We could not get it below 101 and he was hysterical! On top of all that he hadnt had a poopy diaper in 3 days. So around a little before 11:30 that night we decided to take him into the ER. He refused to eat, could not sleep, and was not comforted by anything! This hospital was A FREAKING JOKE! The people there were so unprofessional and rude! When we got there his temp was 101 and he was really upset. We could see there were other kids there with similar symptoms some older, some younger and we were told the WAIT would be about 2-3 hours just to have him seen!!! Well 3 hours later, he was still upset and we still had not even been called back yet! It was time for him to get more medicine, and we convinced the nurse to take his temp, yep it was back at 102.9! I was ready to kill someone! It was 2 in the morning and we were sitting there with an infant watching 8 year olds with NO FEVER and a runny nose go in before us when they had been waiting maybe 30 minutes! Don't worry after much complaining that did no good, we still were not seen until 5:30 AM!!!! I was exhausted and so was Jaxon and his fever still had not subsided! I was FURIOUS to say the least. The nurses were rude, the doctor was a beast and even when we got into a room we still waited an hour before they even ran the tests and diagnosed him! My poor baby got Influenza A. Then I got it (but not as bad) and then my mom got it and is still struggling with it! He is doing so much better now! But our first few days in Florida were spent hanging out inside my Abuelas (grandma) house trying to get better. MMM she made us some yummy food, like homemade chicken noodle soup! Great way to start a vacation huh? Anyway after we started feeling a little better, we started doing lots of FUN things!!! I will post some pictures soon, but I had to express my frustration about the dang hospital first! So if you ever go to Florida don't go to the Coral Springs Hospital.... GO TO THE OTHER ONE!!!

Family Pictures Preview!

We had our family pictures done this weekend! Jaxon was not in a smiley mood AT ALL... but I think they turned out cute anyway! Thank you sooooo much Michelle for taking them! And thanks Dad and Celeste for letting us use your camera! And a special thanks goes to my mom who danced around trying ANYTHING to get Jaxon to smile! :)
I will post more of them once I edit them... but I figured I would put these up for now.

Ya Learn Something New Everyday!

I learn something new about Jaxon and his personality everyday! So now that he is 7 months old that is a lot, but somehow there is still more to learn and I am sure I will learn more everday!

The palms of his hands are sooo ticklish!

Sitting up and splashing in the tub is WAY more fun then laying down!

Mirrors keep this boy entertained for hours!

His personality is coming out so much now! And oh boy am I in trouble! This week I have seen his dramatic and stubborn side!

Sad face huh? This was more then just crying... the TEMPER-TANTRUMS have begun I'm afraid! Can't wait to see what these are like when he is 2!

But I still LOVE him to death and just wanna squeeze those cheeks! Now that it has cooled down I have gotten out his hoodies, and sweatshirts and jackets. He thinks the hoods are pretty funny even though he tries to pull them off.
