Crafts!

Lately I have been on a crafting spree! I have soooo many ideas in my head and want to start them all right this very second! I have always loved scrapbooking, and still have a lot to catch up on! But I have discovered mod podge and the many fun things you can do with it! Here are a few of the projects I have been working on!
I made Easter presents for my cute little sunbeams! (I can't take credit.. I took this idea from someone else and made it my own!) They were so fun to make... cream soda bottles, paper, mod podge, ribbon, and of course my cricut and gypsy!

I am working on a magnet alphabet set for Jaxon... well 2 sets! And once the letters are finished I am making a magnet board for them to go on. SOOOO easy... wood letters, exacto knife, scrap paper, and mod podge! Cute right???Made this frame at a new craft place here in AF! You buy a wood product.. and use their fun craft room with ALL of the supplies you could ever need! They help you and give you ideas! It was a fun project... Now I just need to get a picture in it! :)

I went to the scrapbook expo this weekend.. and yep you guessed it... MORE ideas are flowing!! I love crafts and scrapbooking!

Universal Truths

Joel forwarded this to me yesterday.. here are a few of the ones that made me laugh. :)

  • Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
  • I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.
  • How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?
  • Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
  • Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.
  • I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Damn it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?
  • I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.
  • I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.
  • The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.
  • How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?
  • There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far. (My favorite!)
  • Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

Is it just Me...

Or is he lookin ADORABLE and GROWN UP?

We got Jaxons pictures back! ( I had a great coupon for JC Penney Portraits... so we had them done for his birthday.) This one was my favorite! Not a huge grin, but that little smirk melts my heart!
These are the other 2 we got! I don't know why the monkey one turned out so grainy! I scanned these into the computer and they don't look perfect.. but this one is bad! Oh well! I also have another coupon for Sears Portraits where I will be taking Jaxon for a few more pictures in a different outfit! :) (Don't tell Joel!)

Spring!

I have had very little motivation for laundry, cleaning, etc. The weather has been so nice!!! I just can not convince myself to stay inside! We are just having a lot more fun playing outside! This is the first year that Jaxon can really explore the outdoors! I wish he was walking for this very reason, but oh well.. a little itchy grass and dry leaves never hurt anyone! :) Here are some pictures from the last few days!
Dad was watching him this day, off he goes to explore... but he didn't go far before he turned around!

I thought this was a great pic!

One of my moms friends gave this to Jaxon for his birthday! He loves it!

Have I mentioned this kid LOVES balls! He keeps himself well surrounded with all different kinds!

Now I will vent my issue with the city.... WHY DO HARDLY ANY PLAYGROUNDS HAVE SWINGS ANYMORE? It's totally lame! I remember when I was little, a park was not complete with out swings! There is a new park within walking distance from our house and of course, it doesn't have any swings! So last year I drove around until I finally found one that had a swing set! I took Jaxon there a few days ago and he LOVED it! He sat there for a good 30 minutes just swinging away! It even started making him sleepy! I of course was snapping away with my new camera.. and got what is now one of my new favorite pictures of him!!!
I really hope spring is here to stay!

I just found out that one my friends from Missouri lost their little girl this weekend. She was about 3 months old. When I heard the news I was heartbroken for them. I never met this little angel but her parents are great people and they are in our prayers.
I now have a renewed sense of gratitude for the Plan of Salvation and what that means for each and every one of us. Our Heavenly Father has made such a perfect plan that we can all be reunited with our family and loved ones that are called back before us. Especially the little children. No parent should have to bury their child, but I am so thankful to have the knowledge of the Gospel to know this is NOT the end for them or any of us. I know their precious little girl will be waiting for them and they will be reunited as a family again!
I can not imagine the sorrow they feel, but I want my friends to know they are in my thoughts, prayers, and heart! I hope you can find the peace, love and support from everyone around you and more importantly Heavenly Father.

Bottles, Teeth, Milk, OH MY!!!!

We are currently in the process of transitioning Jaxon from formula to regular milk. He is not a fan of the idea! This also includes no more taking the bottle to bed with milk... 1-bad for teeth, 2- bad habit! (Yes I know terrible habit that I didn't stop early enough). So taking 1 step at a time, we give him water in his bottle when he goes to sleep. He does pretty good at night with it.. but naptime he fights it! Also, his normal formula bottles now have 1/2 milk, 1/2 formula (dr suggestion) to make the switch easier. He is doing ok with it, but gives me weird looks while he is drinking because it tastes different! Needless to say he is fussy and a little grumpy about the whole thing at times! Especially naptime! Which makes for a sad baby and worn out mom! After 40 minutes of BAWLING part of me wants to just give in, make a normal bottle and try again another day. But I know the older he gets the worse it will be. So we are doing our best!
To make matters WORSE... Jaxon is getting his 2 top middle teeth! I can see the left one, but the right one is still a little swollen and trying to break through! He has never been an overly fussy baby, but these mean little teeth make him sad. I can just tell they hurt! He wants lots of cuddles through out the day and sometime just lays on my shoulder and whines till he is almost asleep! It breaks my heart! But I am totally eating up the cuddle time!!! (He has NEVER been cuddly!)
Here is a picture of his 2 little bottom teeth! I know... A year old and only 2 teeth?!?!

Birthday Boy!

Well he is 1! And we have had a blast celebrating!! Which of course includes lots of fun pictures! That = the MOTHER of long posts! Just fair warning!
On Jaxons actual birthday Joel had the day off! (Paid!) So we filled the day with some fun activities!
We started the day off with a Gymboree class! It was SO fun for Jaxon and I think he really loved it! Anyone with a little kid, I would highly recommend trying a class! They can start as early as 6 months old!

When they pulled out the bubbles Jaxon was FASCINATED!! Joel took this picture and it's my FAVORITE! They were not soap bubbles, some other kind... but they would stick to your fingers, pants, hair, and the floor for a little while before they popped. Very cool I thought! Then we took him to Build-A-Bear! He DOES NOT like bears at all! So he built a monkey! But the noise it makes while it's getting filled with stuffing freaked him out! So I did it! He did like "giving him a bath"!

While we were at the mall we decided to eat at Cheesecake Factory! That was more for mom and dad then Jaxon! Haha Oh well! But he sure was happy to be there! Of course being the show off/ cheese ball that he is, he was waving and smiling at everyone walking by!

While he took his nap Joel and I made his first birthday cake together! I thought it turned out pretty good!

We tried to get birthday pictures done at JC Penney, but they were booked until late and Joel had to get to school! I was so sad! Oh well we are going tomorrow instead! Close enough!
The following pictures speak for themselves!

We LOVE our messy boy! He was not shy in any way and DUG right into the cake! He loved it! He got really spoiled and got so many presents!!!! Because this post is already long enough I will spare you the pictures of him opening them! :)
On Saturday we had his party with our family and a few close friends! Old Spaghetti Factory was the place and we had a great experience there! The service was wonderful and they did not have a million rules like the other places did! We had such a good turn out and are SOOOO thankful! We hope everyone had as much fun as we did!!!

This was the cake for the party! Go Costco it turned out cute! I have some pictures of everyone who showed up, but I just previewed this post and it's longer then I thought! So I will end by saying I really hope my little bubba had a fun birthday! We love him to death, and I know he won't remember his 1st birthday, but I still wanted to make it special! Thanks to all the family and friends who came! The presents were GREAT and your presence was BETTER!!! Love you Jaxon! Now 1 request.... lets slow down and take our time this year! Don't grow up so fast ok? :)

I Guess I Blinked....

Because a year has already flown by! My little baby is now a big boy! I remember the day he was born like it was yesterday! The 22 hours of labor with 3 hours of pushing was well worth it! (I just hope it's not so bad next time.) This little man entered our lives at 9:42 pm on 03/03/09 weighing on 6lbs 4 oz. We are so blessed to be his parents! I have LOVED watching you grow and learn! Jaxon your such a smart, loving boy and your dad and I LOVE YOU TO PIECES!!!!
Hope you have a Happy Birthday Bubba!!! We have some fun stuff planned for today just for YOU! Pictures of the celebrations to come.....
