Living Nativity

One of my friends told me about the Living Nativity in Alpine. We decided to check it out on Saturday and we are sooooo happy we listened to her advice and got there early! It is a busy place! Everyone parks in a Stake Center parking lot, then you wait in line for a spot on the horse trailers to take you up to the nativity. The line in the parking lot was CRAZY! No really, crazy! We got there about 25 min early and still waited for over a half hour just to get up there. When we left, it was probably a 2 hour line!
Our ride up to the Nativity.

The Bjorn my dad let me borrow saves my life!

Once you get up there you are greeted by shepherds and their sheep. They tell the story of the journey Mary and Joseph made, and you are sent on your way to find them. By following the star.

On your way up, there are camels to pet/fed, cows, Roman soldiers, donkeys, etc.

In one of the big barns at the top of the hill, there are a bunch of little booths and things set up for the kids to look at, try, and play. Jaxon was interested in a few things. But he was pretty determined to find all the animals and baby Jesus.

It was so cool. Everything seemed so well planned and executed, through all of the chaos! It was really really busy! It was so chaotic, it almost took away from the spirit of the whole thing. But once you get to the quiet stable where they have the star mounted and a little family set up, the spirit and purpose for this season comes right back. Jaxon was pretty mesmerized by them when it was our turn to see them. He kept saying "Hi baby Jesus".
We might have to make this a yearly tradition. It was a beautiful night! I really love doing things like this with my little family.

Thanksgiving 2012

This year we had Thanksgiving with Joels side of the family! Everyone pitched in to help with all the amazing food and we had a great time! I have awesome in-laws!
I left my camera at home, so these pictures are courtesy of my brother and sister in law, and of course my phone!

Waiting for the food. He is so picky, so we improvised and made a turkey sandwich with a roll.

My darling nephew.

Such a sweet boy! But dang he is hard to get pictures of!

Joels grandparents making the mashed potatoes.

Thanksgiving 2012. With Happy Feet playing in the background so my child behaves. :)

Mel, Tyler and Parker.

Attempt at a brothers picture in their matching shirts. Stinkers.

Best family pic we got.

Carson and Grandma B.
Baby's First Thanksgiving. He slept through the ENTIRE meal, and woke up just in time to play.

Burning off some energy outside.

Thanksgiving in the 60's? Fabulous!

Bribery. Wouldn't come inside, and doesn't love pie.
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving too! I ended the night with Black Friday madness! I got my family home and situated, and headed out with my friend at 6pm. We hit Target, University Mall (Disney Store), the new Outlets, and Kohls. We called it a night at 5:30am! :)

6 months!

Tomorrow this little man will be 6 months old! How is he half way to a year already? He is such a silly, happy baby! He smiles at ANYTHING, laughs at ANYTHING, and is fairly content to hang out and watch his brother play.

He is sitting like crazy now! If he is interested in what's going on, he will sit unassisted for a half hour or so. But when he is sick of it he just tips himself over! So we still have to keep an eye on him. As for rolling... still nothing! He sleeps on his side, and will roll/ twist himself onto his side all the time to play. But that's about it! He is a chunk though, maybe its tough for him... :) I dunno!
His Dr appointment is next week, and I already know he is a chubbers, ready for FOOD!! Maybe it will help him sleep? Who knows.
His favorite toys right now are rattles, and rings (the ones you use to hang toys from), and of course his fingers/feet.

He has also found his VOICE! The kid can scream! Then he just looks at you and laughs about it. No teeth yet, but he drools like crazy. I swear sometimes he forgets to swallow! Plus those fingers he chews on constantly are always sick and slobbery! His favorite thing to do is attack faces with those nasty fingers and give big ol' slobber kisses! I kinda love it! ;)

Christmas is just around the corner and we can't wait! Jaxon asks EVERY DAY when Santa is coming to put a camera in his stocking so he can take pictures.
Carson of course has nooo idea, but is loving the Christmas tree!
Our Christmas cards will be going out early next week, so watch for them! Send my your address just in case if you want one! We are loving the Holiday season with our little fam! :)

Skipped!

I realized today I TOTALLY skipped a post about Carson at 5 months! We are now about 3 days away from his 6 month mark! Crazy! I will save the novel and picture overload for that post. But I can't help but post this! My little non-sleeper at night gets so tired during the day he can't even play.
But don't let him fool you, those cat naps don't last long! Little Stinker! Good think he is sooooo dang cute! Cuz he drives me crazy lately! We gotta get this sleeping down!

Not my Brudder.....

Jaxon refuses to call Carson his brother. He is Carson. Period. Not baby brother or anything other then Carson. So funny!
They are definitely brothers though... so similar is so many ways!
Early morning games on my phone! Taking over my pillow!

Little buddies
We carved pumpkins tonight. Ok, Joel and Jaxon did.... Ok, mostly Joel! But it was the tradition that counts right?

He HATED cleaning them out, so we took a break and painted one.

So much for fun for my little guy! He is obsessed with painting everything right now.

Then back to the Jack-O-Lantern!
Then it was time for a tiger break. Newest obession... Tigers.

Time to light it and take it out!
Best picture we got of him with his pumpkin. We need to work on the actual act of smiling into the camera!
Turned out good for free hand! Jaxon loves his spooky Jack-O-Lantern. Amazing picture right? Not only does Joel carve well, his pic-skills are awesome!
His version of decorating... slobber!

Littlest man with the littlest pumpkin!
Our weekend was very full of fun, fall-ish, Halloween-ish activities. More to come! ;)

4 Months

Well technically last week! I can't believe it's been 4 months! Carson grows and changes so much every day. He smiles and babbles constantly and loves to laugh at everything.... even the lights!
At the Luau! Something was pretty funny!
He has also quit sleeping through the night! WHAT?!? Such a little stinker! He sometimes does better then others, but for the most part, he is waking up 1-2 times a night! I am sooooo ready for this stage to be over. Sometimes he is a little hungry, other times he is just awake and fussy. Even his naps during the day have changed. He is restless and can't get himself to sleep very good. And then it doesn't last long if he does. I really shouldn't complain.... cuz he is not THAT bad.... but different then I am used to I guess.

He loves to sit up! Literally spends most of the day in the bumbo, or being held in the sit up position. He loves watching everyone and everything that is going on around here. He is also really into toys! He sits there and holds them, eats them, or hits them on something!

No rolling yet.... well once or twice, but I think they were kind of flukes. He HATES tummy time, he lasts about 1-2 minutes (if that) before a full on melt down starts! Silly boy! Jaxon tries to help entertain him while he is on his tummy and it sometimes helps. It's so cute to watch them interact!
We finally gave him his first hair cut!! He had some crazy, hair going on! And 90% of it was falling out anyway... so the long stuff that was left looked nasty!! I was so sad! But I gotta admit it looks wayyyy better now!!
Before!
After

After. So much better!
Here are a few more random pictures of my little 4 month old Bud!
Getting so big!

Seriously a goof ball! He will laugh at anything!

Waiting at the Dr.

Waiting for the Dr. It was a navy striped kinda day! Twinners!

CHUBBBBBS!
