Poor Boy!

My poor baby got his first cold last week! He was not a very happy kid and I felt so bad he was so sick! We spent all day cuddling, reading books, and sitting in a very steamy bathroom to help with his congestion. He would not even let me put him down for a minute!
But we did discover his LOVE for books!

This was about the biggest smile I could get out of him! He was not too into the camera idea!

Yuba Lake - Camping

Monday and Tuesday we went camping with my dad and his family at Yuba Lake. His wife has a boat and so we all spent the 2 days boating and playing on the beach. It was a lot of fun! But a lot of work with a 5 month old! He loved it though! We of course brought his Jumperoo and set it up in the sand under the shade canopys and he jumped away while looking around at the water and everyone!

The weather was perfect except for the annoying wind that would kick up out of no where! But the temps in the shade were amazing. Me and Jaxon spent most of the time in the shade with our toes in the sand and hanging out! :) But we did take him swimming for a little while -

My sister Stef introducing him to the water!

LOVE his little toes in the water! :)

We did have a little life jacket for him, so we decided to take him on the boat with us for a little ride. He was not a huge fan of the life jacket... and this is how well the boat ride went....

He slept pretty much the whole time! :)

Jaxon also got to meet his great grandma (my grandma)! He thought she was HILARIOUS! I can not even describe how hard she got him laughing! It was too freaking cute!!! I am so glad they were able to come down and meet him!

Monday night we ate dinner and hung out around the fire and played games and stuff! Stef was a sweet heart and put Jaxon to sleep in her lap, and then we laid him in his stroller and covered him with a blanket. Once we got to bed and everything it was cool.... but not too bad. But I had Jaxon well bundled! About 3 in the morning he woke up fussing a little in his pack n play and I was FREEZING my butt off!!!! We forgot pillows and Joel had to use our big comforter for a pillow! Anyway to make a long story short I pulled Jaxon into my sleeping bag and he slept with me... him and his 3 blankets kept me much warmer :) I loved cuddling with him all night! :)

We all slept as good as can be expected when your on the ground... but he did wake up early! :) We hung out in our tent for like an hour at least cuddling and talking! Awwww

After we got up and packed up our tent and everything he was ready for a little nap. I laid him in the stroller again and he fell asleep all through breakfast. I had to post this picture because he looks so comfy and warm! :)

I am not a huge camping girl... but I did have a lot of fun and am thankful Joel convinced me to go. Jaxon was an angel and even though I wanted to rip Joels head off because I was so cold all night - I got to spend time with the 2 guys in my life I love the most! And sleeping with Jaxon on one side of me and Joel on the other was really special!!!

Thanks Dad and Celeste for planning everything and for getting us a really nice campsite! We had fun!!!

Masquerade

My moms friend invited us to her daughters 16 yr party last week. It was a masquerade themed party and we didn't remember we needed masks until the day before!!! So we had to resort to making our own! Haha they were not near as fancy and pretty as the one we saw at the party, but we had fun making them! Of course Joel was not going to have any part of the mask wearing! :) But he did give me some creative insight on my mask! :) Here is how it turned out:

The ladies with their masks!

Proof that Joel was there!!!! :) Jaxon liked sitting on the table.

It was a hispanic party.... so of course there was dancing!!! I was so proud of Joel for dancing with me! As my mom would say the white guy has rhythm! :) Thanks babe for humoring me! I love him for being interested and willing to be involved in my culture!

Update.... Where to start?

So it has been a while since I posted anything! Haha And I really have no idea where to start! I could probably make 6 HUGE posts if I really wanted to of everything that has been going on since the big move. We have been looking for jobs, getting school stuff in line and of course being spoiled by our families... ok mostly Jaxon! We have really enjoyed having some free time to see our family again and let them get to know Jaxon. He has done great with the transition and loves meeting all these new people!
Jaxon is 5 months old now!?!?!?! I can hardley believe he is so big! He is rolling over both ways and loves to play with his feet. He also will not stop chewing on his fingers I guess they are pretty tasty! He HATES rice cereal and any other baby food... guess we will just have to keep trying, but he gets very mad at me when we try! Hmmm, what else - Oh we bought him a Jumperoo last week and he LIVES in it! He gets so excited and never stops jumping!
Well here are some pictures of some of the stuff we have been up to lately. Yep there are A LOT of random things!!! Just a warning!

When Jaxon and I got off the plane in SLC Mia Michaels, the AMAZING choreographer from SYTYCD was at the bag claim! I was so excited to say the least even in my exhaustion, so me and Stef ran over and asked if we could get a picture with her! She was super sweet and very friendly! We both got huge bear hugs from her a picture! She is very tall and beautiful, even after a long flight! Not fair!

Jaxon and Grandpa meeting a horse for the first time. He was a little shy!

We went to the Highland Fling parade with Joels family, and Jaxon really liked it. He stood on my lap and watched very intently as all of the people walked by. After that we took him home for a nap and came back later to join in more festivities. It was perfect weather that day!

This is the best picture I could get of him in the Jumperoo for the first time. This is his concentrating face... he was trying to figure out what to do in this strange thing. Trust me it did not take long for him to figure it out! :)

Rachael Day

We took Rachael for her day last week and went to a really fun park. She was an angel and she LOVES being with Joel. They just have a special relationship and she knows it! She didn't get spoiled that day at all :).
Yep she got SOAKING wet!!! But loved it! Jaxon was finishing eating so we sat in the shade and played. He was more then content with that idea!

Now we are in Utah, unpacking and getting settled. We are so excited and happy to finally be here and can't wait for the things in store for us here! We will miss everyone in Missouri so so so much and hope to see everyone soon!!!!

Friends and the Park

Before we left Missouri we went to Danielle and Trents house for dinner and a night of fun!
Krew and Jaxon are such good buddies!

After we got done eating and playing a couple games we decided to go on a walk and stop at the park for Krew to play. It was so much fun! Thanks Danielle and Trent for the fun night! We will miss you guys! Hope to see you soon!

Jaxon loved the park! It was so nice outside and was a perfect night to be out!

Look at the little smiles on his face?!?! We put blankets around him so that he could sit in the swing. He loved it!

I have no idea how we got him to smile in all of these pictures and look right at the camera... but I love these pictures of him!

Jacob Day

We took Jacob swimming on his day! He was such a good sport because there was a breeze that made it kinda cool outside! Actually it was the perfect temp. without the dumb wind! Jaxon sat with me on the stairs, and Joel took Jacob around the pool and played with him! Such a cute boy!

It takes us about 10 minutes to get back to Lon and Trudie's house. This was Jacob within about 2 minutes of leaving our house! We wore him out good I guess!

In the pool, and even once he fell asleep, he would NOT put down the Cars toy we bought him!
