Walkin the Walk!!!

We have been trying to get Jaxon to walk for a while now! He has gotten really good at walking with us while holding on to 1 finger... then we let go.. he takes a couple steps... then plops down waiting for us! Well as of May 21, 2010 that is no longer the case! Not only can he talk the talk... but he can now WALK the WALK!!!
I sat him down on the floor after lunch and he grabbed my finger like he wanted to walk. So I got up and started to lead him out of the kitchen... well after about 3 steps he pushed my hand away and off he went!!! He is LOVING all the attention I am giving him about this! It's so exciting and we are very proud of him! Luckily I had the camera handy and got a video! The scream of excitement is my favorite!! Towards the end you can hear him ask "Whats that?" Then he gets mad when he can't have the camera! HAHA!
He still needs to master how to get up by himself... but that will come! I am just excited to document this huge milestone for him!!! Good job little man!

CHEESE!!!

I got out the camera yesterday... and taught Jaxon how to say cheese! It sounds like "EESE!" But for some reason this is the silly face that goes with it! :)

He is learning more and more everyday!

Newest additions to the vocab list.....
" is that?" (what is that?)
"airs dad?" (where's dad?)
"Hi"
"Hey, Hey Hey"
"Nigh, Nigh!" (and lays his head down)
Animal noises: dog, cat, cow, and fish are the favs right now!
"WHOA!!!"

Random Things He LOVES :

Light Switches
Watching cars go by ("vroom vroom")
Being chased around the house
Playing "nigh, nigh" (lays wherever he is and pretends to go to sleep)
Emptying the baskets with his socks, sweatpants, and pj's and throwing them EVERYWHERE!
Nutrigrain bars and Teddy Grams
Knocking on doors and windows saying "Hi"
Reading the FOOT BOOK!! - By far his favorite! We read it MULTIPLE time a day!
Chases me trying to kiss or bite my feet... I know weird!
Pointing at everything saying "Is that?" (whats that)
And...Chewing on his fingers..
I did end up getting a few cute pictures! Sorry ALL of my blogging is about Jaxon... but my life is pretty boring with out him! :) Our lives revolve around this little man and we would have it no other way!

Mothers Day!

Happy Mothers Day!! I LOVE BEING A MOM! It's a lot of work, but I would have it no other way! I also LOVE my mom! She is such a great example to me and is the funnest person to be around! I love my mother-in-law! She is so sweet and loving! I love all of the other mothers around me.. I look up to all of you! I hope everyone had a great Mothers Day!!! It really is a special day!
Mothers Day is a little bitter sweet for me... for some reason it brings back the emotions of the baby we lost a few years ago. But I AM SO BLESSED TO HAVE JAXON!! He is the best baby/toddler and I love him to pieces! I am so blessed to be his mom and I am thankful for him everyday! My love for him grows everyday! I just have to focus on that!

** Joel got me a REALLY big purse!! So you will no longer see me carrying a diaper bag AND a purse! YAY!!!!! (why we didn't do this to begin with.. I will never know!) **

I love my family!

14 Months

Jaxon turned 14 months on Monday! He is so fun, but boy is he mischievous! He gets into everything... and he is not even walking yet! Yep... my little man is still crawling around! Guess it works for now! He will take 2-3 steps towards us, his record is 5! But no real walking yet! Oh well, guess I shouldn't complain right? I have a little more control of him until then! :) I was going through old pictures of him and found this picture we took exactly a year ago!
How cute and little was he??? I love this picture of my boys! This next picture is from a few days ago... when it was warm! He was exploring the flowers! Don't worry.. I made sure there were no bees first! But he would not look at me for anything in the world.. this was as good as it got! :)
" K, Mom I will look at the camera ONE TIME and ONE TIME ONLY! Now will you please just let me play?"

Poor Jaxon is sick today! He got a cold from somewhere.. ( um church?), and is getting 2 teeth on top! His afternoon nap today was over 3 hours long... He is miserable and it makes me so sad! Hopefully he gets over it SOON! I don't like it when he is sick :(

* Oh and sorry if my last post was confusing! NOPE... I am NOT pregnant! I am getting a brother.. not Jaxon :) *

I'm going to have......

A BABY BROTHER!!!!

My dad and his wife Celeste found out today they are having a boy! I could not be happier for them! Look at these cute little feet! Not gonna lie... just the ultrasound pictures make me baby hungry! :) Maybe not... I don't know! Either way I am excited for Jaxon to have a little buddy to play with.. even if his uncle is younger then him! :) FUN FUN!!

I always said I would NEVER....

Let my kids play in cupboards! I used to have such an OCD issue with kids pulling out pots, pans and bowls and who know what else out of the kitchen cupboards. Don't ask me why, it just bugged me! But now....
Guess it's not that big of a deal, right? He has figured out how to move the chair that used to keep him out of the kitchen... and now he is too heavy to hold while I make his food. So we have resorted to allowing him in 1 cupboard to destroy!! And he knows which one and bolts to it!
I am sure this won't be the last thing I get over as a mom! Pick your battles right? :)
Oh and now Joel has taught him how to close the door on himself.. so he hides in there and giggles away until I find him!

Family Tradition

Every year for Easter my dads side of the family does a big Roper Family Sand Dunes weekend! We have been doing this for as long as I can remember! Uncles, Aunts, Grandparents, Cousins and kids all bring their campers, 4-wheelers, motorcycles and sand toys to our "designated" spot. This is our family reunion pretty much! Most of them stay the weekend, but we just went down for the day! It was still a lot of fun! Even if you don't have a 4-wheeler or anything, there are plenty to borrow, which is what we did!
This was Jaxons first year going! And since we have lived so far away from our families for so long, it was Joels first time too! When we were little we would bring colored eggs and make trails down one of the hills for the eggs to roll down, of course it had to include tunnels, jumps, and any other creative thing you could think of! So of course we had to pass this tradition onto the next generation! But lets be honest, Jaxon had no idea what the point of that was.. so Joel did it, with some destructive help from Jaxon! (He kept pushing sand into the trail) :)

Joels masterpiece! You can't really tell from this picture but there was a tunnel towards the bottom! Pretty good for a rookie! :)

He was fascinated with letting the sand run through his fingers! Actually.. he just LOVED getting messy! My cousin and I are 1 month apart. We now both have kids, they are 3 months apart, but could not be anymore different looking from each other! Jaxon has dark brown eyes and hair, while Rebecca has crystal blue eyes and a little blonde hair! They had fun playing together though and we hope they grow up to be good friends like we are! Rebecca is the cutest little thing!

After we got nice and messy in the sand we took Jaxon for a ride on a 4-wheeler! He loved it! The whole time he kept saying "WHOA!" "Whoa!" and "Vroom Vroom!"

Because the 4-wheeler was such a hit, we decided to take Jaxon in my dads Rhino. Tatianna (my cousin) brought Rebecca and hubby along with us! It was a fun ride!
All in all it was a FUN FUN day! The weather was perfect for the most part, we got some sun, and ate some YUMMY food! I am terrible at remembering names in my own family.. but it's hard to remember the names of my dads cousins kids! Oh well! At least we got to see everyone!
Jaxon was so good and we wore him out! He slept the whole way home and when we got home, he took a bath and went straight to bed!
Perfect Day I think!
